sentences change, because that is the whole claim: a level changes how
an answer is written, never what it says.

The OSCAR ocean current feed has not refreshed since 12 July. With no new data, the renderer falls back to a climatology grid: a field of long-term average values for each point on the map, computed from years of past observations. The map still renders, and every value on it is one of those averages rather than a measurement taken since 12 July.
